Serbia’s statistical office said the country’s economy grew by a real 3.8% in 2023, revising upwards its earlier estimate of a 2.5% expansion, citing preliminary data.
The statistical office announced a major five-year revision of the gross domestic product (GDP) for all areas of the national accounts, by Eurostat’s guidelines, it said in a press release on Tuesday.
In 2023, Serbia’s GDP amounted to RSD 8.818tn (EUR 75.317bn), as per the statement.
The statistical office also said it revised the GDP growth rate in 2022 to 2.6% from an earlier estimate of 2.5%.
In the second quarter of 2024, Serbia’s GDP grew by a real 4.0% annually, the statistics office said in September.
Serbia’s government expects the country’s economy to expand by 3.8% in 2024.
