The index of the most liquid stocks, Belex15, remained above 1,000 points last week despite its slight decline. Total turnover on the market was significantly higher than this year’s average, mainly due to government bond trading, and amounted to RSD 1.55bn (EUR 13.2m).

The most active stock in the index basket was Dunav Osiguranje (DNOS), which closed the week at RSD 1,102 with a turnover of RSD 10.9m. The shares in this insurer have risen by around 13% over the past month, as the pressure on the demand side has intensified over the past two weeks.

Shares in the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIIS) weakened by 0.5% to RSD 796, again on a modest turnover of RSD 3.8m. The company announced that it will publish Q2 numbers on Monday, July 29. Brent crude oil price averaged less than USD 85 per barrel in Q2, up 8.9% from last year when the company also made a one-off donation payment to the government of the Republic of Serbia.

Sevojno-based Jedinstvo(JESV), which gained 4.9% to RSD 7,763, led the gainers on a low turnover of RSD 0.8m. On the other hand, Impol Seval (IMPL) weakened by 9.1% to RSD 7,000 and Metalac (MTLC) by 4.4% to RSD 1,654, both stocks with low turnover.
