Belex15 tops 1,000 points for first time since 2008

For the first time in the last 16 years, the Belex 15 index exceeded 1,000 points last week. This basket of the most liquid stocks on the market rose by 2% to 1,009.9 points, mainly thanks to the surge of Belgrade Airport (AERO) and Metalac (MTLC). Total turnover on the market in the last five trading days reached RSD 536.6m (EUR 4.6m).

The most active stock was Belgrade Airport, which jumped 8.3% to RSD 1,950 on a turnover of almost RSD 59m. The last time the stock was at this level was in September last year when it fell from over RSD 2,000 to RSD 1,700 amid the pressure of a large seller.

Shares in the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIIS) had an excellent trading week, rising 1.1% to RSD 869 on a turnover of RSD 53.4m. With a huge turnover, the stock hit RSD 900 on Tuesday, its new multi-year high.

Shares in Metalac rose by 7.4% to RSD 1,720 on turnover of RSD 10.8m. During the week, the stock reached RSD 1,750, its multi-year high. Shares in Tehnogas (TGAS) were mainly traded at the takeover bid price of RSD 25,000 on the eve of the closing of the public offer, with a turnover of RSD 5.3m.

After the stock went ex-dividend, Dunav Osiguranje (DNOS) fell by 3.2% to RSD 1,030, with a modest turnover of RSD 2.8m. The company’s general meeting will decide on the proposed dividend of RSD 51.6 per share.
